Currently we have a virtual and a non-virtual interface class (mathematical) functions in dune-common. This (conceptional) interface is used in dune-localfunctions by the implementations of LocalInterpolation::interpolate.
If one wants to implement Hermite-type finite elements (Argyris, HCT, Morley,...) one does also need the evaluation of derivatives and there is currently no such interface.
