Documentation for Context objects

The reimplementation of the LocalOperator interface in !388 (closed) heavily uses Context objects, whose precise interfaces depend on the, well, context. As they are not simply implemented by single classes it is even non-trivial to gather that information from reading the code. Some sort of documentation what the interfaces actually look like would be appreciated.
