developer meeting 2021

This is the initial draft of the developer meeting page. Should be filled with concrete dates and information about the video-conference platform

Which video platform to use? BigBlueButton (Browser) or Zoom (App or Browser)? We would have both available at tu-dresden. In BBB we could reserve several rooms for small-group discussions, in zoom we have break-out rooms

I'm happy with both. I could add WebEx as another option, but it's as propritary as Zoom and to my impression less robust.

OK, my experience is that Zoom is a bit more stable. So, I will start with this. If there are objections against Zoom, we can always switch to something else. It will not be required to install a proprietary App or to have a Zoom account. It will be possible to start the meeting directly in the browser without any registration.

I like BigBlueButton better.

Can we settle on a time frame? This MR proposes 13:00 - 18:00 while @gruenich suggested 14:00 - 18:30 in his message without any objection.

The document here is just the draft. Let's start not too early, to have a chance to get launch and not too late to fit enough sessions into the afternoon. If we want to make 3 sessions a ~1.5h + small breaks in between, we could make it 14:00 to 19:00 or 13:30 to 18:30. Alternatively, we make shorter sessions a ~1h. Then 14:00 - 18:30 with 10min breaks would also be fine. (probably this strict splitting into sessions will not hold, but might allow assignment of topics to sessions)

I am fine with your current proposal. 1 h sessions seems to short.

I don't mind either way.

I propose merging this; it might attract more people to the topic. Further, what about adding a news entry? Or should we give others more time to discuss time, format, and ways of communication?

I'm not available from 7th to 15th each afternoon. So the suggested times do not work for me.

Would a morning session be better for you on 8th and/or 22nd?

Unfortunately I was told beginning of last week that I have to invigilate some exams Friday 8th afternoon. They are online so I might be able to listen in a bit to the meeting but will not be able to participate after all.
