.  Occurrences of 'l' in format for printf deleted
   (e.g. %lf -> %f, %lE -> %E, %10.4lg -> %10.4g, %-8.3lf -> %-8.3f)
   Remember: using 'l' as a precision identifier for doubles is only
   allowed for scanf according to the ANSI standard.
