It's a long log.  It has subsections but nobody seems to care.
The patch introduces a few more subsections, and actually fills

When configuration is done with single configurations build systems (e.g. Make or Ninja), $<CONFIG> expands to an empty string. This change expands this generator expression on both cases to forward the configuration type to cmake.
